I have continually been at the mercy of hackers but now with these two wonderful products - BlackICE and ClearICE , the boot is on the other foot and I might just have the last laugh. The best defense is a good attack and now with ClearICE I am virtually on equal footing so that when they strike I can strike back and I will - with a 'sword of ice'.

ClearICE definitely does its job and keeps its promise to be easily used and understood. Even the process of downloading, installing, and registering is quick and easy. Additionally, support for ClearICE is outstanding, and in my opinion could have no better technical assistance anywhere. 

With the repeatedly high number of “hits” that I receive, I am really angry and want to fight back. ClearICE does in fact make reporting the incidences to the violator’s Internet provider quick and easy, which has caused immediate response – all at the click of a button.

I have been using your product for some time now, and have used the e-mail option to notify several ISPs of "questionable" conduct by their users.  I have found the interface and information very useful, and having everything consolidated in one program, where I had to use two or more programs to get the same information is quite handy.  Thank you for producing such and excellent product.

Ben,

I would just like to say thanks to you and any support team you have.  This product is definitely worth telling all of my friends about and I know that a few have signed up.  I have successfully had 3 attackers removed from their providers.  I believe that my last computer was hacked without any warning tools, I was shut down from entering my BIOS.  With no way to correct it, I had to buy another motherboard.  Keep up the good work and I will keep referring my friends.

I've been using BlackICE since the installation of my cable modem service and recently read about ClearICE in John Dvorak's column in PC Magazine.  I purchased ClearICE, along with SmartWhoIs, to not just report MY attacks but to also help stop the attackers from pestering EVERYBODY.  

Since I've been reporting the attacks the number of them seems to be far less and about 90% of the ISP's respond to my Emails.  I had trouble figuring out a couple minor things and technical support was incredibly fast and accurate, a new release of ClearICE within a few days corrected a problem I was having with window sizing.  (The SmartWhoIs people have been very responsive also.) 

Thanks very much for a valuable tool at a very reasonable price!

I then needed a way to report the intrusions back to their ISP's.  This serves a two-fold purpose.  One, if there is a customer whose machine has been penetrated and is the jump-off point for hackers, then the ISP can work with him and get it cleaned up.  Many average home consumers don't even know when they are hacked.

Secondly, if it is an actual hacker, then these folks need to be brought up short before they do serious damage.  Day in and day out, I have to clean up after these hackers.  The damage they do erodes confidence in business and government.  This drives up costs.  These costs are levied back on the consumer or the taxpayer.

Black ICE is a great tool, but like many programs of its type, it does one thing and one thing well, it stops the hacker.  What a user does with the information is secondary.  This is where ClearICE comes in.  ClearICE cuts the report processing time from 15 minutes down to seconds.  It is a combined audit log reduction, incident analysis, and reporting tool.  I've even used the graphs I developed with ClearICE in business meetings and training.  A picture is worth a thousand words.   When I need to get the word across to management that there is a serious threat to their business, I just show them a graph developed with ClearICE.   

At home, I'm still very busy with family, but I still want to shut down these hackers.  One click and I'm done. ClearICE is one of the core tools in the information security consultants arsenal.
